Angelica Root Uses and Benefits
Angelica Root is also known as dead nettle, dong quai, purple angelica, masterwort, holy ghost, high angelica, and archangel.
Angelica is a stimulant, an excellent tonic and natural remedy for stomach issues, heartburn, gas, colic, colds, fevers, drug withdrawal. This herbs has also been used to improve poor blood circulation, improves sex drive, balance hormones, and regulate mood swings, stimulate appetite, improve digestion, reduce fluid retention, nervousness, and insomnia.
A hot cup of tea also helps break up cold quickly, a drop into the eyes helps to improve eyesight, and a drop into the ears helps deafness. Angelica is very effective in strengthening the heart. To use as a general tonic, one to two capfuls can be taken everyday. This herbs is also good for cleansing out lungs and chest congestion.
Because of the results in using this herb it has been given the name “archangel” the results of this agent is compared with Christ and the working power of God.
Tea; Use 1 teaspoon of dry herbs to 1 cup of water, bring to boil and let steep for 5 minutes. Serve with a touch of honey or without.
The oil can be used in bath as it reduces inflammation, nerve and joint pain, softens the skin and help treats eczema.
Note; Angelica Root may not be safe to take during pregnancy as this herb causes contractions.
