Gotu kola Benefits
Gotu kola (Centella Asiatica) is known to have some great benefits for the skin; it enhances production of hyaluranic acid, and chondroitin sulfate, mucin which are all required for connective tissue, skin, and joint repair and increases antioxidant. May reduce scars and stretch marks if apply directly to the skin.
Gotu kola is an herb that is commonly used for thousands of years in India, Indonesia and China as Ayurvedic medicine. It is particularly used for healing wounds, improving mental function and treating the symptoms of tuberculosis, urinary tract infection, the common cold, flu, and leprosy. It is also used by some to treat anxiety, improving memory, Alzheimer’s, asthma, stomach ulcers, as well as promotes longevity and have anti-inflammatory activity, to arouse sexual desire.
Note* Gotu kola is regarded as safe, but side effects may include dermatitis, headaches, sedation, vertigo, stupor, gastric upset, nausea. Not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
